Policy 

Heineken UK request that retailers not planning to trade outdoors prior to the 17th May log kegs and casks in cellar with Best Before Dates up to the end of May 2021.

Key Dates:

  • 31st May - Deadline to report any containers due to go out of date on or before 31st May
  • 30th June - Deadline to have destroyed reported beer and submitted evidence of destruction

Heineken will review kegs with a Best Before date after 18th April – 31st May on a weekly basis as they go out of date.

We will review the period for which we will consider requests to destroy in line with government guidance.

Only unbroached kegs and casks will be considered for credit.

No credit or duty reclaim for broached containers.

Policy

CMBC will provide full credit for all un-opened kegs and casks delivered on or after 1st October with a best before expiry date between 5th November and 17th May (aligned with national lockdown dates and re-opening roadmap).

To raise a claim please visit www.returnyourbeer.co.uk Where you have previously raised a claim you will be able to use existing log in details, or register as a new user. The website is open to claims for CMBC products from 1st February 2021.

Please do not dispose of kegs until advised to do so via notification from the website. Before destruction you will need to ensure you have appropriate authorisation from your water authority and ensure you record photographic evidence of destruction (full details and guidance as to what is required is on the FAQ section of the website).

For credit to be approved, the required evidence must be uploaded onto the website and your trade account must be up to date.

No credit or duty reclaim will be possible on open kegs or cask or any packaged product.

Kegged product supplied to you by CMBC from other brand owners will be credited only where the third-party brand owner passes credit to CMBC. Request for credit for these kegs should be included in your claim with the exception for any claims for Diageo product (Guinness / Hop House 13) which should be registered through their own separate claims website: www.mydiageo.com 

At the point of re-opening, in date kegs which remain unopened and have been stored correctly during lockdown will be saleable.

Molson Coors

It is important for everyone that we can get as much as possible complete before the trade re-opens. For you, it means credit in your account to re-order fresh beer. Once you have completed the process, we will be in contact to arrange for the collection of empty containers. For us, it means that we can focus our sales and service teams on supporting you with the products and activity to help you re-build your business. 

Therefore, we will be closing down RYB for Molson Coors brand submissions on Friday 26th March. Our dedicated Customer Service team will continue to support you with process queries and data issues after that date, but the initial claim must have been submitted by that point.

There is also a deadline for destruction, which will be Friday 30th April. This will ensure that there is enough time from your initial submission for us to review the data, resolve any anomalies, then for you to safely dispose of the beer.

Finally, given the recent announcement on the likely re-opening timelines, we are now extending the allowable Best Before Dates that will be accepted.  Claims for cider brands and Cobra, that had a longer shelf life than most other beer brands, will also now be accepted.   All claims are still subject to our validation process, but any full containers can now be submitted with BBDs up to Monday 12th April. 

 

Harvey's

Reclamation of beer duty on Harvey’s cask ales

In light of the latest position and the extended enforced closure of the pub trade, we will be crediting the duty element only of the stock purchased on all un-broached (full) containers of Harvey’s cask beer, it will not apply to our keg beers at this stage. the following criteria will apply: -

An up-to-date trade account.

Accurate completion of the RYB claim (i.e., customer details, container information, photographic evidence). Please note destruction photograph will need to show the beer being poured away with the cask label visible in the shot.

We will validate and credit back duty for stock delivered with BB dates between 1st of November 2020 and 31st of March 2021. These will be checked against deliveries made to each account.

Only unbroached casks will be considered for duty credit. No duty reclaims for broached casks.

Policy:

Requests for the destruction of unbroached casks are currently being reviewed with BBD’s of 1st November 2020 - 31st March 2021.

Retailers please log all unbroached casks that you would like authorisation to destroy in line with government guidance.

Please note that there is no credit or duty reclaim for broached containers.
